Value of Titanic LEGO Set
It may seem strange to celebrate the RMS Titanic, a disaster of naval history.
On the other hand, it's a legendary vessel and building it from LEGO is a huge undertaking!
I have personal experience of building this set.
My friend Sean surprised me by sending this to me as a Christmas gift. The box is massive!
No surprise, as there are 9,090 pieces in this enormous set.
The LEGO Titanic is divided into three sections.
Each section is contained in a separate interior box, with its own instruction manual.

Building the LEGO Titanic is a literal journey.
It comes in a LEGO branded brown cardboard outer (shipping) box. An absolutely mint outer box is going to be almost impossible to find. Mine came with Fedex and other labels attached.
There are three inner boxes and three manuals.
It's easy to accidentally tear the lid of these inner boxes, so again, if you've opened the set then a set of mint boxes is almost impossible.
Each stage is separated by numbered bags, although there are often two or three bags for a single stage!
Once built, the Titanic LEGO set is well over four feet long! (53 inches in total.)
The three sections are held together very cleverly with pull-out pins, allowing you to open up and admire your handiwork on the interior of the ship.

You'd better make sure you have somewhere to display this!
It totally dominates the furniture you'd set it on. No wonder LEGO's website shows a woman in a massive study building the set.

How much is the LEGO Titanic worth? Can you still buy it new?
The set is on backorder at LEGO, and is strongly tipped to be discontinued this year.
In the US, the list price is $680. In Canada, it's $899.
Third-party websites have it on sale for 30-50 percent above recommended prices.
