Archie Comics Price Guide for 2025
Archie is one of the very few comic book characters to be published concurrently since his first appearance in 1941.
Ironically, his heyday was the 1950s, when superhero comic books were at their lowest ebb.
DC Comics and Marvel Comics cancelled many of their long-running hero series in the fifties.
Heroes were out of style. Comic book consumers demanded crime, horror and romance titles.
Archie spoke to a neglected demographic, teenagers growing up in the 50s, dating, learning to be adults.
Stories around the love triangle between Archie, Betty and Veronica were hugely popular.
Archie Comics revolved around cheesy dad joke-style punchlines and featured the hapless redheaded freckled kid getting himself into hijinks.
As the popularity exploded, more and more Archie titles were published. By the end of the 1960s, the comics were in decline.
A TV series, Riverdale, modernized Archie for a new generation.
Even today, you can find Archie comics for sale on the checkout of supermarkets.
If you have a collection of old Archies, especially 10c issues or the 25c oversize annuals of the 1950s, then get in touch. We will appraise your comics free of charge and may offer to buy them from you.

Pep Comics #22 (1941)
First appearance of Archie Andrews, Betty and Jughead
Lowest price $35,000
Average price $70,000
Record price $252,000
Archie Andrews is still being published today, albeit in far fewer comic books than during his golden years of the 1950s.
This first appearance is exceptionally rare, with just 21 unrestored copies in the CGC census. Long, long overdue to break its sales record.
Pep Comics #36
First Archie cover appearance
Lowest price $1,200
Average price $2,500
Record price $39,500
Archie's first cover appearance (face in a circle) was on Jackpot Comics #4, but this is his first full cover appearance. This reflects the move towards Archie titles and away from superhero content that MLJ experienced in the 1940s.
